Pete was first introduced to electronic music at the age of 15 in legendary club Arzenal near the city of Kosice in Slovakia. Pete moved to London in 2004 and soon after bought his first Cdj's and started playing at various venues (LIGHTBOX, PACHA, AREA, Bar&Co, Echo boat parties, Bar 3One7, Santos). Pete became a resident and established his own night, "Metropolis" at Liquid Bar. Since then there have been 12 Metropolis parties held at Liquid Bar. More than 30 different dj's from 10 countries all over the world played at the night. Metropolis covered most of the genres and played anything and everything between house, breakbeat, electro, tech or techno to minimal, dubstep, jungle and drum'n'bass.
At the beginning of 2010, Pete started his own podcast: http://thesoundoflondonunderground.podomatic.com/
It is called The Sound of London Underground and it is totally dedicated to house music and its different varieties. It captures the magic of London scene and features mixes from resident dj's at Metropolis and Special guest dj's.
This week we have an absolutely amazing deep house and disco set from DJ Bomb!!!!
From DJ Bomb's soundcloud.................
Steve Waller aka DJ Bomb started DJing in the early 80's due to the influence of breakdance arriving in the uk. This obviously evolved into house in the mid 80's and this has stayed with me till now.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to play alongside awesome Dj's such as the Jedi Knights, Lee Burridge, Jon da silva, John Kelly and the DIY Dj's. In the U.S. people such as Jeno and the wicked DJ's.
Nowadays my music influences are still the same as they ever were, disco, deep house, house and tech.House music is still an obsession and my Djing is still going after 3 decades. Here's to many more.....
SysteMattiK is Matti Kiviniemi, Finland's Secret Weapon to the UK Underground.
As a fan of underground dance music since early days of Acid House during the first half of the 90's. The warehouse scene in Finland was very vibrant and such DJs as Krisse & Elliot Ness, Lil Tony & Orkidea, to name a few, had a big influence in his perception of what good mixing is all about.
Matti combines an old and new school approach to his DJing. He began his DJing career mixing with vinyl, however, with a keen interest in technology, he now uses the latest laptop technology but he keeps the laptop in the background and concentrates on using his controller to mix and rock the crowd!
Nick has been DJing on and off for about 10 years. Nick got his first break playing every week on York's pirate radio station KLFM, which led to one off guest spots in and around the York scene.
After DJing at another popular event in York called Widescreen, Nick played alongside another guest, Alex Alterskye. Before long the pair realised they had a similar style and it was from then that Nick was invited to become a resident at Alex's new night Random.
From an early age Alex has had a huge interest in electronic music from the jacking sounds of Chicago through to Germanic tech house.
Alex's musical style has been heavily influenced by the burgeoning underground house scene in York, Leeds, and Hull (U.K.) over the last few years.
Alex has been producing his own original productions for the last couple of years with releases on Shufflemood and Selektor Music, and more recently on TUG underground records, Physical Gravity records, Radioactiva records, Intuito Records and Triskel-Tech recordings. He doesn't like to pigeonhole his sound - it's just house music that he likes to keep tracky, groovy and accessible but with a major underground edge.
The members of Freche Früchte have released their own productions individually and also plan to release material collectively in the near future and are currently in the process of setting up their own record label.
We also run our own podcast series which features mixes by special guest DJs as well as featuring mixes by our DJs.
Freche Früchte Recordings present the label's debut vinyl release - Alex Alterskye - You'll Be Right EP featuring remixes by Humandrone and Out In The Sticks. Available now on white vinyl from Juno Records, Decks.de
