Meet our Resident DJs
The Freche Früchte Resident DJ team is comprised of Alex Alterskye, Nick Minardi and SysteMattiK. Each member of the team adds their own unique flavour to the Freche Früchte mix.
Alex Alterskye
Alex has been DJing for over 10 years and has played at loads of different nights including Koala, Back to the Future, Retox, SYLD, Alchemy, Widescreen and Region 2 as well as promoting his own tech-house night "Random" in York.
His style ranges from jackin Chicago style to deep, tech and tribal house. His influences include Jimpster, Kreon, Jamie Jones, Derrick Carter, Inland Knights and Sven Vath.
Alex also has an IDJ magazine raw talent runner up award with one of the judges Anne Savage commenting "Dirty! I'll be keeping this mix for sure!"

Nick Minardi
Nick has been DJing on and off for about 10 years. Nick got his first break playing every week on York's pirate radio station KLFM, which led to one off guest spots in and around the York scene.
After DJing at another popular event in York called Widescreen, Nick played alongside another guest, Alex Alterskye. Before long the pair realised they had a similar style and it was from then that Nick was invited to become a resident at Alex's new night Random.
Moving from the small venue of the Little John in York to Judges Lodgings through to Victor J's the Random night firmly sits every month at Dusk. Now Nick and Alex play back to back bringing their unique music style to any night they have played at which includes Brass Monkey in Notts.
Whilst having similar influences to Alex, Nick's other influences include Hugo, Worthy, Chris Duckenfield, Gorge, Jet Project, Sis, and Brett Johnson.
Also with an IDJ runner up award in his belt Nick's DJing style, that's best described as a jackin techy spice of tribal house, is definitely worth a listen!
SysteMattiK
SysteMattiK is Matti Kiviniemi, Finland's Secret Weapon to the UK Underground.
As a fan of underground dance music since early days of Acid House during the first half of the 90's. The warehouse scene in Finland was very vibrant and such DJs as Krisse & Elliot Ness, Lil Tony & Orkidea, to name a few, had a big influence in his perception of what good mixing is all about.
Matti had a brief period of producing and performing his own music before leaving his hometown to begin and concentrate on his studies. For a while music fell into the background until he was blown away after seeing a set by Miss Kittin. He describes this as the defining moment that made him decide he wanted to get back into music.
Matti combines an old and new school approach to his DJing. He began his DJing career mixing with vinyl, however, with a keen interest in technology, he now uses the latest laptop technology but he keeps the laptop in the background and concentrates on using his controller to mix and rock the crowd!
His styles include Techno, Minimal, Tribal & Tech-Funk. Matti is inspired by such artists as Richie Hawtin, Magda, Kid Loco, Anja Schneider, Miss Kittin, Gui Borratto, Umek, Kraftwerk, Oliver Huntemann, Rainer Weichold, Phonogenic, Jori Hulkkkonen, Dj Hell, Sven Vath & many many more.
Over the last year Matti has done plenty of networking and began to start promoting his own nights. Matti also runs his own podcast and as well as creating his own mixes, he also invites guest DJs to contribute their mixes. You can check out his podcast at:
