Matt Trousdale

Out in the Sticks Born in England in the 80s Matt Trousdale grew up on a diet of breakfast cereal, techno and house music.

An early visit to a rave made a huge impact upon Matt with immediate exposure to records by Techno producers like Dave Clark, Aphex Twin, Thomas Heckman and Oliver Lieb. Some of these records have influenced him and made him change the way he thinks about music even today.

Also growing up listening to cassettes of recordings of DJ's from legendary clubs like Ralph Lawson at Back to Basics, Graeme Park at Hacienda and Sasha at Shelleys it wasn't long before Matt too wanted to play records so in 1994 he got he first set of turntables and it was then that his addiction to vinyl began....

Gaining gigs all over the UK helped him hone his skills and allowed him to develop his style and taste in music.

Late in 1998 he started putting samples and beats together and started making tracks to include in his DJ sets. This has continued through to the present day and he has had releases under various aliases played by a variety of DJ's from Laurent Garnier to John Digweed to Ashley Beedle to Seiji to Faze Action to The Revenge to Greg Wilson to James Zabiela to Bill Brewster and many more.

In 2003 he relocated to Sydney, Australia where he has continued to DJ and has been involved in promoting the People Must Jam parties. People Must Jam is a successful disco warehouse party that has featured guest DJs like Rahaan, Mark Seven, Al Kent, Frank Booker and many more.

He has continued to DJ and has supported DJs from all areas of dance music like Lee Burridge, Kelvin Andrews, Inland Knights, Fred Everything, Pete Herbert, Trusme, James Holroyd, Paul Woolford, Simon Baker and many more.

Although Out in the sticks classes himself as a house DJ his sets can be quite eclectic; taking in disco, techno and tech house as comfortably as early deep house and harder New York garage records... "It all falls under the term house music really".
